Wayne Rooney is a joke

After hearing Sir Alex Ferguson earlier this week confirm the situation with Wayne Rooney I could only think one thing: unbelievable!  Other high profile players at Manchester United have left due to fall-outs with Sir Alex Ferguson, however, this situation is quite different.

Here’s a player that the club have done nothing but help him since he arrived at the age of 18. They won three consecutive English Premier League titles, and finished second place the fourth year. They went to the Champions League final twice, winning it the first time around. They have also won several FA cups in his time at Man Utd. Wayne Rooney was a key player in all competitions. Wayne and Cristiano Ronaldo were the two key players in attack and now with Ronaldo gone, Rooney has become the main strike force.

One cannot fathom why a player would want to leave such an incredible club. The club has a fantastic history, great fans and world class stadium. Not only that but they have best manager in the world and Wayne is a fundamental part of the club’s future (or was). Now he’s throwing it all away and for what?

Wayne Rooney is claiming the club are not able to bring in world class players to the club and for this reason he wants out of Manchester. This couldn’t be furthest from the truth. And don’t forget the fact that Rooney hasn’t scored much for club or country this season! He shouldn’t be pointed the finger at anybody else but himself. His private life is reportedly a mess due to the hiring of prostitutes (meanwhile he is a married man who’s wife is pregnant with his first child). The reality is Wayne is a complete mess at the moment both on and off the field and needs to look within before blaming others.

And what happened to the loyalty of the likes of Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville and Paul Scholes? I guess it is becoming more obvious that loyalty only comes from players who grow up at the club, and even that is rare in this day and age. A good example of team loyalty is FB Barcelona players Xavi, Iniesta, Messi and Puyol.

Once Rooney’s contract is up at the end of the season what will happen to him then? Surely, he won’t be transfered to another club in England. Manchester United wouldn’t dare go that route of having to give up one of their best players and he then be used against them. My guess is he’ll go abroad only to become surplus to requirements wherever he goes. He’ll have to find his way into whatever team he join. Meanwhile he has everything at Manchester.

After all of this, I believe this is the beginning of the end of Wayne Rooney.
