Sport Specific Running for Soccer

Too many soccer players don’t run enough on their own time. They rely solely on the training done with their team. Each team trains a different amount of time depending on how serious they are a team but the reality is most players could run more than they currently do. They could also improve the sport specific training required to maximize their soccer abilities.

The difference between strength & muscle building

It is very important for soccer players to develop their muscles.  It becomes even more important as you are in your final teen years and entering adulthood.   When I say develop your muscles I’m referring to spending time in the gym working with weights.  As you age, your bodies are more able to carry muscle and this should be taken advantage of otherwise you’ll be at a disadvantage from the competition.

The key to Playing Winning Soccer

The KNVB, Royal Dutch Football Association, is one of the most decorated and respected football associations of all time.  They have produced the likes of Johan Cruyff, Marco Van Basten, Clarence Seedorf, Wesley Sneijder, and the list goes on and on.  More importantly, however, the KNVB is known for the style of soccer it promotes: they encourage technical excellence.  There was a period in the 1970’s when the KNVB was playing beautiful soccer, but they were not winning anything.  During that period they played their rivals – the Germans – and lost numerous times but suggested they were satisfied because they played a nicer game.
